The Central Executive Committee of the Students' Federation of India condemns the unilateral attack by the KSU (NSUI) on the SFI victory rally in Thiruvananthapuram, after the massive victory of SFI in the Kerala University Students Union election. KSU has deliberately triggered violence amidst SFI's Historic Victory Celebrations in Kerala University Union Elections. The violent mob of the defeated KSU (NSUI) goons attacked the SFI victory rally with stones and sticks. Over 15 SFI Comrades including the Kerala State President, comrade M Sivaprasad were injured. Even some of the media persons were also attacked by the KSU. Instead of controlling the KSU attackers, the state police remained as facilitators for the KSU attack and attacked SFI at several instances.
The foundation of the exhilarating victory of the SFI in the Kerala University lies in the SFI's struggles for the students' rights in the university and the support received from the student community. We would like to remind the state government and its home ministry that if they are trying to override the huge support SFI received from students by unleashing violence using KSU and the police, it will be strongly resisted by mobilizing students.
The SFI CEC expresses its strong protest against the violence unleashed by the KSU and the inaction of the state police against the attackers.
