Study, struggle, solidarity — the Students' Federation of India since 1970.
The Students' Federation of India was founded at its first All India Conference in Thiruvananthapuram, held from 27 to 30 December 1970 — uniting student organisations that wanted militant, principled politics rooted in students' own issues.
More than five decades on, SFI is the largest student organisation in the country — a major force in Kerala and West Bengal and present on campuses nationwide. Its work flows from one idea: education is a right, and students have the power to defend it.
An education system free from commercialisation and outside control — knowledge that serves people, not profit.
Active students' unions, free expression, and a real voice for students in every decision that shapes their campus.
A scientific, secular, democratic education — and equality of opportunity for every student, whoever they are.
Two sister platforms carry the work further — pinned here so they're always one tap away.
SFI's magazine of ideas, history and movement journalism — chronicling the student struggle, decade after decade.
